17. Methods of analysis: The water samples taken to ensure the enforcement of sections 15 and 16 must be sent, for analysis, to a laboratory accredited by the Minister under section 118.6 of the Act.

17. Methods of analysis: The analyses required to ensure the enforcement of sections 15 and 16 are performed in accordance with the following methods described in the 14th edition (1975) of the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Waste Water published jointly by the American Public Health Association, the American Water Works Association and the Water Pollution Control Federation:
(a)  oil and grease are determined in accordance with method 502A entitled Partition —Gravimetric Method or by method 502B entitled Partition —Infrared Method (Tentative);
(b)  suspended matter is determined in accordance with method 208D entitled Total Non-filtrable Residue Dried at 103-105ºC (Total Suspended Matter); and
(c)  pH is determined by method 424 entitled pH Value.
